"...And I've been a square kid."
Another MST3K commission, this one for . And, as you may have noticed, it pays tribute to one of the series' most popular and well-known episodes, 910 "The Final Sacrifice". For the select few of you who haven't seen this one - fresh out of the tax shelter known as Canada, it's the story of a wiry geek named Troy trying to find out what happened to his dead father (it seems obvious to me: the guy died). He gets mixed up with a vague cult led by a deep voiced guy named Satoris (or, as Mike bills him, "Canadian villain Garth Vader"), and teams up with the denim-covered, hockey-headed, beer-swilling "hero" Zap Rowsdower. Though I couldn't fit him in here, the true highlight of the film is Mike Pipper, a Red Green-lookalike hermit with a voice that's a cross between Tom Waits and Yosemite Sam.
This piece also marks the debut of my new, properly-sized Mike shadowrama. It's a little inaccurate, since I used episode 706 "Laserblast" as a reference for it, so Crow is angled the way Trace Beaulieu held him rather than how Bill Corbett did, but for all intents and purposes, I think it works fine.
