So, word on the street in my family is that I may be getting a tablet for my birthday or Christmas! But before my mother goes out shopping for one, she wants to know what the best kind is. And to be honest, even I'm not 100% sure on that. So to you tablet users out there in my watchlist, I pose this inquiry: what kind of tablet do you recommend?

Wacom. All the others are pretenders.

I'd say Wacom is the winner!

I personally like the Wacom bamboo pen and touch. It's small, effective and cheap (no more than 100 usd) and from my experience they're quite durable.

While my intuos 3 has served me well for many years,

The bamboo looks incredibly slick.
and the badest boy on the market would be the pen displays. These are basically interactive flat monitors. Though they run the in the thousand dollar mark.

For more info check out the Wacom website; [link]

I have a small Wacom Bamboo. You don't need to waste money on a large one; the small one works great.

You should see if any of these match up with what everyone else here says, and weigh up which one's best for you.

Intuos is probably your best bet, but all the Wacom models do have pressure sensitivity.
Intuos is much more sensitive than the Bamboo, but I have been satisfied with the Bamboo thus far.
