Well, I want to give big thanks to :iconqwertypictures: and :icongeorgia-o-queef: for offering their help in fixing my scanner dilemma. I downloaded a registry cleaning program that only cost me $35, much cheaper than the $300 it would have cost me to get this done professionally! Ultimately, I didn't quite fix the problem I had - it still scans slow, and I still can't open Image Zone, but I did manage to adjust my settings to have my scans upload directly into Photoshop. So until I figure out what the real problem is, that'll have to do, but the point is, I can upload artwork again! (Albeit very, very slowly.)

Other programs are slowed down too. It takes me two to three minutes to open Windows Media Player now, for instance. And WordPerfect (my word processing program - not Microsoft Word, but an incredible simulation) doesn't seem to want to run at all. I can't figure out what this is - I ran a virus scan, a malware scan, a registry scan, and I fixed everything I could fix. What the heck else is left?

:iconshoxxe: recommended I just transfer all my important files to a portable hard drive and just reboot everything from the ground up. It's looking like that might have to happen, but I'd need to get a portable hard drive first. Well, my birthday is next Wednesday, so I think I'll ask for one as a gift. Wish me luck!

Sweet! Bye the way, who do you recommend to do repairs. My computer quit on me this morning. I was thinking about geek squad.

I wouldn't exactly call it "sweet". My computer's acting funny and I don't know how or if I can fix it - that's hardly reason for celebration.

The last time my computer crapped out, I consulted with a local professional whom my mother knows personally. So unless you live anywhere near my town, I'm afraid I can't effectively recommend him to ya...

I guess I spoke too soon. ^^; I wish you the best with your's. Hopefully it isn't too tough of a fix.
I'm not looking forward to the cost of getting mine fixed.

Err... actually, I meant a simple CD/DVD burn.

Viruses can migrate to another drive or even a flash drive if you're not careful, so that's not totally recommended. Plus portable drives are indeed a bit costly! o_O

Note that I'm not a real pro for virus problems, I never really had to deal with one. I'm using the Avira antivirus now, it's free and has prevented a number of possible infections to date (I download a lot). One bit of safety I got lately was to download an antivirus on a uninfected computer and *then* move it onto the sick computer for install. That,s because some virus actually mess with your downloads, possibly infecting them.

Anyway, good luck with that man.

Hmm, very odd - my guess is either you may need to clear up some space on your Hard Drive - either saving your files on CDs or perform a Disk Cleanup - or your system's probably mucked up after removing that virus. In any case, I'm glad to have helped in any way possible, and to get your arts slowly but surely back on the move again :)
