...Except maybe a nice onigiri, which is, y'know, what it actually is.

You folks know that I'm a Pokémon fan. And you know that the original Japanese version of the anime is my favorite version. So I started a blog on which to share my Pokémon-related thoughts, aptly titled Those Aren't Donuts [link] . And if you're a fellow Pocket Monsters fan, have a Blogger account, and wish to throw in, let me know! I'll gladly add you as a contributor - I want to make this blog into a community, where Pokémon fans can share their thoughts, their observations, their fan art, whatever!

I've always enjoyed your art and writing, and this looks like it'll be no exception. Love the header art.

Yeah, I know all about that whole "jelly-filled donut" thing now. I still find myself watching that clip now and then just for a good laugh.

Well, the Japanese version is always superior, since it is the one that comes first. But I do have to admit, the American version is good in its own right. And now that Pokémon USA is handling the American dub now, it's kinda been staying true to the Japanese version. In fact, I think they only translate and then voice. I haven't seen many dub edits like 4Kids was notorious for (even though 4Kids did the dub okay, loosely).

Anyways, totally reading this blog. As a big Pokémon fan, I look forward to it. :D

Ever since I discovered the truth behind the "donuts", I've wanted to make donuts that look like those riceballs, just for the hell of it.

I remember watching that episode, the Mankey one! I remember thinking to myself even back then, "That's a goddamn riceball, not a donut! Do they think we're stupid?" I was twelve and I knew it was a riceball.
