Welcome to the Sketch Jam

Another batch of Looney Tunes sketches, based on gag ideas I had for what would be an improved and more looney version of Space Jam. As I've mentioned in the past, I think if you were going to make this movie work better as a story, you'd have to make it more cohesive - jumping back and forth between Michael Jordan dealing with his floundering baseball career and Bugs Bunny contending with an alien invasion is enough to give the audience fair cause to sue Warner Bros. for severe mood whiplash.

So instead of following Michael Jordan's retirement, how 'bout we follow Bugs Bunny's retirement instead? Say it's 1992, and Bugs and Michael have just wrapped the second Hare Jordan commercial, and Bugs decides he's had enough of doing the same stupid gags over and over again. Michael confides in him that he's about to call it quits in the NBA so he can try baseball for a change, and that inspires Bugsy ol' buddy to throw in the towel himself, so he can retreat to his palatial Beverly Hills hole in the ground, kick back, and let the Looney Tunes TV residuals keep rolling in forever. West and wewaxation at wast!...Until the Nerdlucks show up two years later, that is.

I kicked around a few gag ideas for that premise, based on my incredibly dorky knowledge of Warner Bros. animation. I like the idea of having a brief cameo from the Tiny Toons cast promising to carry on Bugs' legacy in his absence (and Bugs being so cavalier about the new kids getting canned already), and of course Daffy Duck would try to nab some of that precious spotlight for himself now that the rabbit is no longer on studio premises...only to discover that the Warner suits have awarded the position of mascot for their fledgling new television network to Michigan J. Frog instead. Thanks for the sour persimmons, cousin.
