NOTE: You might have to download this one - it's just that wide.

Furthering my study of the animated Nickelodeon originals, here's what I've deemed the Silver Age. Still a lot of good creator-driven shows in this era, but there was also a more uneven episode-to-episode track record for many of them, and a significant upswing in Klasky-Csupo productions, putting a squeeze on other studios.

Credit where credit is due:
"The Wild Thornberrys" created by Arlene Klasky and Gabor Csupo
"SpongeBob SquarePants" created by Steve Hillenburg
"Rocket Power" created by Arlene Klasky and Gabor Csupo
"As Told By Ginger" created by Emily Kapnek
"The Fairly OddParents" created by Butch Hartman
"Invader Zim" created by Jhonen Vasquez
"Chalk Zone" created by Bill Burnett and Larry Huber
"The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius" created by Keith Alcorn, John A. Davis, and Steve Oedekerk
"My Life as a Teenage Robot" created by Rob Renzetti
"All Grown Up" created by Arlene Klasky and Gabor Csupo
"Danny Phantom" created by Butch Hartman
"Avatar: The Last Airbender" created by Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino

That's pretty cool. I see you're using the "old designs" of the charaters from Avatar. But what's with Ginger's skin color? Her skin isn't that dark.

S.S. has been around since 1999? I learned something new today.

I wasn't aware there was a difference in designs for the "Avatar" characters - I just used what I had in the book for reference. As for Ginger, I used the first picture I could find on Wikipedia for color reference, and I can only guess that it was too dark or something.

Great pic! The only thing is that I don't see the Catscratch cats on there. They were laugh-out-loud hilarious & deserve to be in this age!

Hilarious or not, I put "Catscratch" in the Bronze Age due to the story behind its conception - Nickelodeon approached Doug TenNapel about his graphic novel Gear and asked him to turn it into a kids' show. Rather than being creator-driven, the show's concept was shaped by what the network wanted, not what TenNapel had in mind (if you've ever read Gear, you can see the origins of "Catscratch", but the graphic novel is grittier and more politically incorrect). This, I think, was what heralded the downfall of what the Nicktoons originally stood for.

... I'll agree. So what's Broze?

I see, but me & my brother own & read "Gear" & we were excited to see Catscratch once it came out. Unfortunately, there hasn't been many episodes made recently of them...

The Bronze Age includes pretty much everything else that's premiered since the Silver Age - that is, "Catscratch", "The X's", "Kappa Mikey", "El Tigre", "Wayside", "Back at the Barnyard", "Tak and the Power of Juju", and the forthcoming "The Mighty B". Basically, I feel that these cartoons don't embody the spirit of creator-driven cartoons as well as the original Nicktoons did. I'll explain why when I get to that particular piece of artwork.

Another great line up. I like your style.

IMO this era is a mixed bag, I like some such as SpongeBob and Zim, but others, like the Klasky Csupo stuff, was meh at best.

I also notice As Told By Ginger is the only show so far to appear with just one character.
