The Silver Age of Nicktoons by jbwarner86 The Silver Age of Nicktoons by jbwarner86
NOTE: You might have to download this one - it's just that wide.

Furthering my study of the animated Nickelodeon originals, here's what I've deemed the Silver Age. Still a lot of good creator-driven shows in this era, but there was also a more uneven episode-to-episode track record for many of them, and a significant upswing in Klasky-Csupo productions, putting a squeeze on other studios.

Credit where credit is due:
"The Wild Thornberrys" created by Arlene Klasky and Gabor Csupo
"SpongeBob SquarePants" created by Steve Hillenburg
"Rocket Power" created by Arlene Klasky and Gabor Csupo
"As Told By Ginger" created by Emily Kapnek
"The Fairly OddParents" created by Butch Hartman
"Invader Zim" created by Jhonen Vasquez
"Chalk Zone" created by Bill Burnett and Larry Huber
"The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius" created by Keith Alcorn, John A. Davis, and Steve Oedekerk
"My Life as a Teenage Robot" created by Rob Renzetti
"All Grown Up" created by Arlene Klasky and Gabor Csupo
"Danny Phantom" created by Butch Hartman
"Avatar: The Last Airbender" created by Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino

WOW, quiet a few.
ah.... Chalk Zone. Now that was one of my all time favorites! Wish I could find the show elsewhere.

1999-2003 was my childhood and revolution. I feel bad for kids who grow up now and are forced to see new Nick and Disney.

But I was lucky...yay

I'm lucky to be a tad late for the 90's.
I grew up on SpongeBob Squarepants, Danny Phantom, Jimmy Neutron, The Fairly OddParents, Invader ZIM, My Life as a Teenage Robot, Rugrats, & Avatar. Boy was I lucky to see the greatest animation, writing, & comedy. It inspired me majorly to draw & write as a kid. I honestly thought I had the best childhood. So what if someone "ruins" it by this Squidward's Suicide nonsense or an unwanted spin-off of a popular satirical science show or someone, somewhere was crazy enough to involve my favorite Robotic Character into Robot Fetish Art that had so many comments & views. I had it best at the age of late 90's & early 2000's. Whenever I say "Remember Nick?" People will know it wasn't outdated toilet humor & crap-cheap animation. It was the era of what we people wanted.
I blame the easily entertainable audience we have nowadays.
Nicktoons live on.

Also, if you want to know what I'm talking about for what can "kill off" my early ages, it's a creepypasta that recycles footage from Season 5 & photoshopped stock images, Planet Sheen (AKA the Cleveland Show for JN fans), sexual Avatar art, & possibly the greatest & most offensive "childhood killer" I've ever survived was an notoriously infamous XJ9 inflation comic fetish porn that probably scarred many fans for life, while seeing MLAATR in a very unusual way after that.
I live on after those days, because I don't care what happens to who is it. From people who upload strange art to executives milking SpongeBob & picking up effortless pilots while forgetting about what cartoons truly were, Nicktoons are people who I had fond memories.

Yep. I was a kid when those shows released. I'm starting to rewatch all of Danny Phantom and stuff like that.

Oh god I don't want to find that comic ever

Your looking at a man who survived that.
I look back at the show with no negative feelings towards it, do whatever: since I can only imagine if Renzetti had ever took one look.
Unlikely since he betrayed me by becoming a Storyboard Artist for MLP: FIM.

WARNING: BORING & POINTLESS HATE SPEECH AHEAD!
Ever since I've been seeing FNAF, Sonic, MLP, Anime, & Homestuck drowning the internet, it made other smaller fandoms like these lose popularity & potential. I fear my favorite Nicktoons would get lost & abandoned in the infamous "More Like This" sections.
Please refer to my 2 unrelated screenshots for more information:
The OC I've put many character development & traits: zerodivisiontoons.deviantart.c…
The innocent screenshot featuring 3 of my favorite Video Game Characters, The Sponge we all know, & (Who else can I even say to replace her?) :zerodivisiontoons.deviantart.c…?
I'll ensure MLP will PAY for having Renzetti betray us XJ9 fans & killing off the society of the one who saves the earth.
F.Y.I. I am not a troll, nor am I a hater. I just cherish the moment when I get my hands on Illustrator & Scanning.
Check back soon & I promise you a gift of Mega Man bludgeoning Sonic, my OC obliterating Freddy Fazbear....
AND I PROMISE YOU A DRAWING OF JENNY WAKEMAN DECAPITATING TWILIGHT SPARKLE, MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!
Please don't take that last sentence seriously, I just go really angry & insane when my art is unrelated, but related to MLP somehow.

At least theses new animated shows take risks unlike in the 90s. But I do want Nickelodeon to change.

Well, sometimes the risks are better. It's just the good shows are overshadowed by the reality sitcoms

If only more teenagers weren't idiots, then they would know that the sitcoms are pure trash and I've hate sitcoms since I was 4 and now that I am 15 I still hate it.
If only Nickelodeon just focused more on good animation. God, I want Cyma Zargharm dead now. I wonder if C.H. Greenblatt would change the network?

I know it's trash. Sometimes, the shows are good, like Drake and Josh. But things like Game Shakers where every character screams every word and the games are just suddenly there...ah...take it away please

C'mon, don't be like that. Kids today love the shows they're growing up with. Just because they're watching Gravity Falls and Harvey Beaks instead of Kim Possible and Invader Zim, it doesn't mean their childhood is inferior to yours.

Well look at all the terrible sitcoms, like Jessie and stuff.
I mean, today has great shows if you can find them. Most of the time however, I just find the mind numbing shows.
Still, there are good ones

SpongeBob SquarePants and The Fairly OddParents are the only cartoons from The Silver Age of Nicktoons that are still releasing new episodes and new seasons. The rest of the nicktoons were cancelled. The Fairly OddParents will surpass Rugrats, because they announced the production of season 10 of that show. FOP has actually 152 episodes and Rugrats has 172. FOP will become the second Nicktoon with most episodes behind SpongeBob SquarePants.

It was the best of times to be a lad, full of wonder and fun; the age were everything was fun and games and the world was bright. But like any wonderful age, we have to let it go and embrace the dawn of the new age.
