Artist's Comments

There was once a time on "Family Guy" when Lois was the only one who understood Meg's needs, and was willing to talk to her as a human being and show her the respect and consideration she never got from her father or her classmates (or even strangers on the street, for that matter). Nowadays, that no longer seems to be the case - Lois can't even bring herself to actually say "I love you" to her own daughter. That's a shame, really, 'cause I liked it better when the two of them were on the same team. So I drew this as a nice little scene of how it used to be.

I know the Meg bashers are of the belief that she deserves what she gets for being so stuck-up, but she hasn't exhibited that behavior in a while. It's gotten to the point where all she really wants is acceptance, and when the rest of the cast refuses to give it to her, it becomes less about humor and more about cruelty just for the sake of being cruel.

I noticed that and it saddens me that one time Lois was the only person in the world who cars about Meg and now she won't even wanna say "I Love You" to her only daughter. :tears: I can just feel poor Meg's pain....

Aw, that's really sweet! I hate the Meg-bashing. It's more sad than funny.

Even though I have no real attachment to these characters, this is very sweet. They could still do more with Meg if they tried. There has to be more to her than just being popular. Do they really have to know a teenage girl to give her better lines? I have the feeling that if the writers just made her a little more active and funny,no one would have a problem with her. The first season dynamic was much better.

The sad part is in this day and age, writers seem to think sardistic humour is the ONLY way of being "funny". It's down to the point when they pick on characters who don't even deserve half of the cr@p we see, and this series being no acception. Cartoons can do more than make us laugh when they dish out compasionate scenes like this.

Bravo, my friend. Bravo. 8-)

Yeah, I know! And personally, while I like those stabs at Meg, I can't help but question what people have against her!

If she was an actual actor, I'd be surprised as to why she stayed on the show...
