Here's a commission from fellow MSTie , who remembers my long-defunct "B-Movie Babes" series and wanted to see me revive it briefly to cover the ladies of MST3K's short subjects. And hey, I love MST3K, I love drawing beautiful women - why not? From left to right:
- Nuveena, from "Design for Dreaming" (shown with 524 "12 to the Moon"), the dancer of the future who finds herself mesmerized by the cars on display at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel's auto show. Sleeps in the nicest oxygen tent you've ever seen. - Mr. B Natural, from "Mr. B Natural" (shown with 319 "War of the Colossal Beast"). An androgynous man-woman who prances around like a ninny while preaching the values of "the spirit of music". Knew your father, she did. Okay, clearly the short tries to pass her off as a guy, but as Kevin Murphy said in the Amazing Colossal Episode Guide, "A boy with great legs and boobs is just plain wrong." - The showgirl from "The Selling Wizard" (shown with 603 "The Dead Talk Back"). Or, as Tom Servo lovingly identified her, "the pizza dominatrix". Says nary a word as she leads us through the wild wonderful world of ice cream freezers, courtesy of Anhauser-Busch in the days before they only made beer. - Whitey the angel from "Out Of This World" (shown with 618 "High School Big Shot"). While vying with Red the devil for the soul of a bread salesman, she transports herself down to Earth in the guise of a news reporter to learn all she can about the fascinating world of specialty bread. Apparently, all you need to succeed in the profession is a hat and a sketchpad.
Crazy Short ladies!! Um, ladies? . . . um . . . Ladies. Well. Mr B Natural is a lady, dangit. I officially adore this picture. And I think Bridget and Mike were married before Mike started working on MST3K
The weird thing is I never wanted to buy a single product any of these shorts were shilling (those that I could follow. What precisely was Design for Dreaming selling? Cars? Clothes? Anti-hallucinogenic barbiturates?).
And I think Bridget and Mike were married before Mike started working on MST3K
And unfortunately, I've only seen the first two. Your designs are great; don't get me wrong. Fantastic job.
Your description of "Mr." B Natural cracked me up:
That's a Best-Brain-worthy line right there!
