SD09 - The Family That Preys by jbwarner86 SD09 - The Family That Preys by jbwarner86
This is a group of characters from "Forever 16" that I hadn't yet properly introduced - the Duquense family, the Maxwell's obnoxious next-door neighbors. Left to right:

- Patricia, the stuck-up matriarch of the family, does absolutely nothing with her free time aside from belittling Tina for being part of a family that makes less money than hers does.
- Brad, the egocentric father, pulls down about $850,000 a year and spends most of it on things like the inground swimming pool or the family Hummer.
- Kevin and Lindsay are 16 and 14, respectively, just like Joel and Katy, but being the spoiled jerks that they are, they have very little patience for anybody other than themselves. When the Duquenses first moved to Minnesota in 1990, Joel (still seeking a girlfriend at the time) asked Lindsay what she was doing on Friday night, to which she coldly responded "Hanging out not with you."

Not pictured are the sextuplets, which Patricia gave birth to in late 1997 (in a story parodying the birth of Kenny and Bobbi McCaughey's septuplets around the same time), and whom she later exploited in a 2009 story where she tries to replace the titular couple on "Jon and Kate Plus Eight".

When I saw the title I assumed it was going to be Tyler Perry fan art!

Nice!
I hear the new show is going to be called John and Kate Divided by Eight.

Wait, if they make so much money, why would they live in a house next to the Maxwells instead of in a more upscale neighborhood?

And....
"Hanging out not with you."
Is this intentionally mangled grammar?

I'm working on the theory that Patricia secretly enjoys rubbing her wealth into other people's faces.

Also, yes, it is intentionally mangled. Lindsay isn't exactly the highest-quality mp3 on the iPod, if you know what I mean.

Interesting, and somewhat ironic that these antagonisers have been introduced far later than the main characters - overly jerky characters oughtn't get too much from the main casts, IMO (unless they're laughable and/or have further emotions; ala Bender). Then again, I guess it's all the fun when designing "villains"; the badder, the better ;P

The seemingly broken grammar for Lindsay seems appreciated for her, also.

Haha, Lindsay's expression is hilarious.

Why do they strike me as people you'd find in an Archie Comic, living next door to one of the main characters.

I say it's because that's totally the kind of thing the Archie writers would do. :XD:
