Description
A while back, I drew Michelle and Joel engaging in a little underwater kissy-face jbwarner86.deviantart.com/art/… . Now it’s Jocelyn and Steve’s turn. Hanging around the early ‘90s as I’ve been doing in the recent batch of Forever 16s I’ve been writing and drawing lately, I haven’t had the opportunity to draw these two, and I missed ‘em quite a bit.
I’ll reiterate what I implied the last time I drew a Forever 16 couple underwater – I am not a fan of couples in fiction who break up for stupid reasons. Doug Walker put it best when talking about this sort of thing, describing it as two people just sitting in their corners and moping for about 20 minutes, pretending like they don’t love each other until they have that sudden realization and book a mad dash through the airport two minutes before the credits roll. That’s a cheap way of toying with the audience’s emotions, and it reeks of plot contrivance and lazy writing. I know that people are sick of that, and they just want to see happy couples who genuinely love each other. So that’s exactly what I give ‘em. I don’t see anything wrong with that.
