Gossip Girls by jbwarner86 Gossip Girls by jbwarner86
If it weren't for the fact that Alison, Alex, and Jessica have celebrity voice actors, I think there could be a lot of potential for episode ideas among these four kids.

So I drew this lineup of Simpsons schoolgirls and now I don't know what to do with 'em. I could make it into a signature banner for the No Homers Club...except I'm there so infrequently, I doubt it'd be worth the effort. (For a board full of people who know everything about "The Simpsons", there's surprisingly little meaningful discussion going on over there.)

I really just did this as an excuse to practice my inking. I've been sketching and inking a lot of stuff lately in an effort to smooth out my linework. I think it's improving!

Oooohh, wonderful girls. Very sweetly drawn. What concerns her appearances, should be wrong more. But it is already enough for me to see them SO. They are real cuddely.

Too bad Maryl Streep, Winona Ryder, and Lisa Kudrow haven't returned to voice these characters...

Jesse, dude- you draw Simpsons characters so well, it's crazy =D

I love your take on all of them. Lisa's my favorite female character out of the whole cast. Allison looks adorable (Allison Taylor's the name of my sister, I kid you not). I like how stuck-up you made Alex look, and the sinister expression on Jessica's face.

I agree that Bongo Comics is getting a little stale with their pencilers. The comic hasn't looked decent since 1998 or early 1999, around the time when I stopped buying it.

Sadly both of the childhood comics I read, Sonic and Simpsons, have gone completely downhill. I don't know how people can still purchase both and find them enjoyable.

Man, I'm gonna ask this again--when are you gonna submit your work to Bongo comics? You do yourself and your talent a grave injustice by not sharing this with folks in a position to hire you!

To get the ball rolling, have you heard about the new Simpsons contest to design a brand new character? Seriously JB, do it. You've got mad Simpsons skills, and the public wants to see 'em!

I did hear about that contest, but the catch is that you can only describe your character - the show's character designers will be the ones who actually draw it.

You're right, though, I should look up Bongo's address and submission policy. It'll be tough to get in, though, especially considering the level of talent they've got there - you know Sergio Aragones works there now?

Sergio is freelancing for them briefly, but heavy hitters like him aren't going to muscle out talented lesser knowns like you. Nathan Kane is the art director, just get a hold of him. He'll send you a "test", a sample story chunk for you to pencil. I'm sure you'll knock it out of the park.

That's bullshit about the contest. Peh. Like I'd waste my time verbalizing a character. Guys like us draw, we don't dictate.
