Forever 16 - B27

It's been a long time since I did a mock-up of a Forever 16 book cover. In the ongoing continuity of the strip, "Aim For The Hair, It's His One Weakness" is the 27th book collection overall, and collects all the strips from December 20, 2010 to October 2, 2011. That includes the latter half of the strips I published daily in my gallery several months ago, everything from Joel's childhood dying at the hands of Yogi Bear [link] to Jocelyn's Sucker Punch fantasy [link] - not to mention that super-long Justin Bieber story that took up most of February, which is where the cover design and the title come from [link] .

But as I've mentioned, I never ever stop thinking up ideas for Forever 16, and even after I quit doing them daily, I kept outlining more stories. Here's everything else I thought up between then and now...

4/4/11 – In a spoof of Arthur, Aaron’s dad sets him up with Lindsay, threatening to cut off his subscription to Maxim magazines if he doesn’t go out with her; Aaron tries to make it look like he’s going out with Kendra so he won’t have to go through with it
4/18/11 – Inspired by Rio, Katy buys a pet macaw, but Tom Servo doesn’t get along with it
4/25/11 – Tina and William get ready to watch the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, but none of the kids think it’s important
5/2/11 – Patricia starts a town-wide campaign among Eden Prairie housewives to convince ABC to uncancel “All My Children” and “One Life to Live”
5/9/11 – Steve dreams himself to be Thor
5/16/11 – Jocelyn’s parents think that the war on terror is won now that Osama Bin Laden is dead, but Jocelyn knows better
5/23/11 – An extended parody of The Hangover: Part II, in which Joel, Steve, and Aaron awaken after a night at the Mall of America with no recollection of what happened; Joel’s hair is dyed purple, Steve has a tattoo of the Batman logo on his chest, and Aaron is in possession of a penguin
6/6/11 – In the wake of the wave of storms that struck the southern and northeastern United States, William turns the basement into a tornado shelter
6/13/11 – Abby tries to get a mystery on film like the kids from Super 8, but nothing interesting happens in Eden Prairie
6/20/11 – Tina takes up “Extreme Couponing”, but Patricia is determined to spend even less money
6/27/11 – Katy gets Joel hooked on “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”, and he tries to hide it from Aaron and Steve
7/4/11 – Aaron, Joel, and Steve challenge each other to a city-wide planking contest
7/11/11 – William sees Horrible Bosses and decides he wants to kill his boss
7/18/11 – Kendra reverts to a childlike state after seeing Winnie the Pooh
7/25/11 – Lindsay accuses Michelle of hacking into her phone and putting personal information on her Facebook page, in a pastiche of the News of the World scandal; in the end, it turns out Lindsay actually hacked Michelle’s Facebook and tried to frame her
8/8/11 – On the way to see 30 Minutes or Less, Joel gets attacked by a couple of 12-year-old kids who strap a stink bomb to him; the bomb will explode unless he shoplifts an iPad for them in under half an hour
8/15/11 – The Maxwells go on a shopping spree at Borders before the store closes for good
8/22/11 – Steve makes fun of Tea Party candidate Rick Perry, but Jocelyn seriously insists that the man cannot under any circumstances become President
8/29/11 – Patricia takes cues from Kim Kardashian’s wedding and plans a renewal of her vows to Brad, constructing the most extravagant and expensive wedding she can
9/5/11 – Eden Prairie High School introduces a zero-tolerance stance on bullying; Lindsay is threatened with suspension from the cheerleading squad if she torments Abby anymore
9/19/11 – Steve has all his friends over for a weekend-long Star Wars marathon after buying the complete saga on Blu Ray
9/26/11 – Katy tries to sneak into Abduction against Tina’s wishes

It's funny how some of these are already pretty dated, despite happening just a few months ago. Kim Kardashian, I'm looking at you...
