While I'm not much into the whole eastern spiritualism thing and I don't care for her henna tats and nose piercing, I still think she's pretty (the boobs help) and would totally go upstairs to 'see her artwork'. (Of course, if I was Joel Maxwell and had a girlfriend, I wouldn't.)
Maybe I'd go fir it, doesn't seem like she's crazy or anything, she'd probably be a nice long term girlfriend.
Though in Joel's case I think he finds her somewhat too intimidating and her wasn't exactly wowed by her in the first place and he seems pretty squeamish by her making a pass on him.
On a related note, I found with this and the previous page your facial expressions got a tremendous boost and its pretty awesome. How do you do coloring like you do here? Maybe I should do that technique for my webcomic.
While I have no idea which way JB has this story ending, either way this goes there is no way that Joel can possably get this right. I can't but smile over innocent worm monsters and spirit chicks who want to show you her etchings. I wonder what her "Falling in Waterfall Water in Fall Watercolours" in hand-mixed paint in tryptich would be like.
I think Joel should go for it. I did, at least for sex months, with an earth mother/new ager/artist. We never had an argument or were angry with each other. We had lots of discussions but one of us changed his/her position or we agreed to disagree. There never was any boredom. I learned a lot about glass blowing and pottery and have some beautiful pieces that mean a lot to me. And speaking of not being bored: the love-making was amazing as was the meditation although on a different level. She was the least materialistic, bigoted, close-minded, unintelligent, unfriendly, boring and non-open person I have ever met and deeply appreciated any kindness, gesture or gift. I don't think it ever could have developed into marriage or even a long-term relationship. Six months and almost a week: I wasn't ready to move on but she found someone else and we parted as friends and still share periodic 'checking-in' notes and calls. Don't be prejudiced, man; give it a try.
