This is a long overdue birthday gift for 
- he's a devoted fan of Abby from Forever 16, and he loves underwater scenes as much as I do, so I thought I'd combine the two for him. But this piece also sparked my character design instinct, and I ended up experimenting with a few slight appearance changes for Abby. For a long time, it's bugged me how much she and Katy look alike, and I figured one way I could set them further apart could be to change Abby's hair color. I think auburn is good for her - red is the rarest hair color, and no other major characters in the strip have it, so I feel like it does a good job of making her look like the odd one out, which fits with her personality. What do you think?
